Can You Upload a Pdf to Onenote
Could information technology be that on i laptop you employ OneNote 2016 (supports in-place editing) and on the other laptop you lot use OneNote for Windows (doesn't support in-place editing) ?
Many people don't know they have two OneNotes.
BTW: ane has a File menu, the other doesn't.

No, both are OneNote 2016.
Interestingly the 1 that does not support in-identify editing for pdfs, does allow it for .docx files.

Please confirm if you follow the steps beneath to insert the PDF in OneNote 2016:
- ClickInsert >File Attachment.
- In the Cull a Certificate to Insert dialog box, click the file you desire to adhere, and and then click Insert.
- If prompted for additional options, click Attach File.
In addition, please provide the following data usa to test:
- Provide the screenshot of Office 2016 Product Information. To get this screenshot, open OneNote 2016 on your system, click File > Account , capture the screenshot of all the information mentioned nether Production Information . ( Annotation : delight remove any sensitive information from the screenshot such equally email address or full proper name etc.).
- Y'all can edit other Microsoft Office documents in affected OneNote version, correct?
- Can you lot please confirm the version of OneNote in which y'all are able to edit PDF?
- Brand certain yous've installed all the updates of Acrobat Pro DC on the afflicted calculator.

I can confirm that I am following the steps yous set out in your message, merely am even so not able to do in-identify editing of pdf documents in my OneNote 2016.
1. Run into attached screenshot of Production Information
ii. Yes, I can edit Microsoft Give-and-take documents in-identify in the affected OneNote version
3. The version of OneNote in my other laptop where I Tin can in-identify edit pdfs is likewise OneNote 2016
4. Confirmed that I have installed all updates of Acrobat Pro DC on the affected figurer

Unfortunately that is not the issue here.
Protected View (as it is called in Pro DC) is already off in my Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.
